What to do when you are absent

If you are absent, we have made it possible for you to keep up with what we are doing so you do not fall behind. Remember that you are responsible for all assignments missed. Complete all the assignments needed and bring them to school the next day you come to school.

  1. Send an email to your teacher letting them know you are absent and he will let you know what assignments you need to complete. Let him know if you have any questions.

  2. Check the Calendar and Assignments to find out what you need to do.

  3. Send an email to your teacher or a partner for more information about the assignments.

Assignments to Check

  • Reading - Read the assigned pages in the Wonders Online. Read your own book(s) for at least 30+ minutes. When you have finished a book fill out a Book Note in the Wiki. If you are in a Literacy Group, read the assigned pages and fill out the assignment you have been given.

  • Spelling - Complete the Spelling sort for the day after you Lay and Say the words. Watch the video and create your own word chips, if needed.

  • Vocabulary - Write down the vocabulary words from Wonders Online. Work on your Word Squares.

  • Mathematics - Read the assigned pages in the Wonders Online Book. Look at the calendar and complete the assignments for the days you are gone. When you are finished with the assignments, go onto First in Math and work for at least 30 minutes.

  • Writing - Work on the story we are writing at school in Google Drive, or on paper. Complete any writing you are doing at school by finishing it, revising it, and editing it, as needed. Check both stories using the rubric on the Writing page. Go to the Utahwrite website and watch the recommended lesson.

  • Social Studies, Health, Science - Click on the Assignment Page we are working on at this time. Find the Timeline on the page and see what day it is. Complete the activity for the day. If you are unsure, send a message to Mr. Andersen to clarify the assignment or ask for help.
